I know it’s been awhile since any word of the next mega swap meet, but Im sure you all know its a lot of work to try and organise over 40 individuals to set up stalls so bear with me for a bit more until everything is confirmed.
As of this post, nothing has been locked in yet but I just wanted to see if I would get the same interest or better for this next one.
The proposed date so far is Sunday 4th of APRIL.
Now this date is pretty much the only date Rose St Market has that is free for us to use. We def cannot use a Saturday for that venue because they already have a very successful market day which happens to also be their busiest day of the week. So sorry for those who can’t make Sundays. You might just have to take a day off.
As usual we will try to incorporate everything from sneakers, clothing, bikes and whatever else we think is cool. I (hope) will also be working with DJ Peril and he will be making sure there is a bigger music presence – as in more records and hip-hop related stuff for sale or to look at.
I have spoken to the Rose St people and they guarantee this time that the cafe will be open so you don’t have to walk to Brunswick St for food and drink.
At the moment this is the extent of it. I will update as more news comes to hand.
Those interested in getting involved with a stall or anything else, can email me – firstname.lastname@example.org
or just post your questions here if they are just general ones.
editors note: The flyer is offical and the event will go ahead as planned….see you all there!(info from sneaker freaker)
So the other day i headed up to melbourne to checkout the SURE store, its a streetwear store that stocks a lot of sweet brands. I came across some alife T’s (2 for $80) and shot this video whilst i was there….
AVATAR takes us to a spectacular world beyond imagination, where a reluctant hero embarks on an epic adventure, ultimately fighting to save the alien world he has learned to call home. James Cameron, the Oscar-winning director of “Titanic,” first conceived the film 15 years ago, when the means to realize his vision did not exist yet. Now, after four years of production, AVATAR, a live action film with a new generation of special effects, delivers a fully immersive cinematic experience of a new kind, where the revolutionary technology invented to make the film disappears into the emotion of the characters and the sweep of the story. Miss Davis says: I heard someone on the radio the other day call this movie an elaborate take on the Pocohontas story, and I would have to agree. As predictable as I found the story line, I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The visual beauty of the film and the mystical creatures throughout it keep you intrigued, which makes this nearly 3 hour film worth every minute of seeing.
THE WIZARD OF OZ
In this charming film based on the popular L.Frank Baum stories, Dorothy and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado’s path and somehow end up in the land of Oz. Here she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz who everyone says can help her return home and possibly grant her new friends their goals of a brain, heart and courage. (Thankyou to imbd.com for the info.)
Miss Davis says: This film is an oldie…… but a goodie. Who dosnt love the classic story of Dorothy and the magical characters she becomes friends with on her journey through Oz? Well that could possibly be my nearly 5 year old son with whom I watched this with recently. As the film finshed he remarked that “the old man was mean ” and that “that film was a bit of a strange one wasn’t it mum?”
Now I absolutely love this film and have watched it many times over, which I have to say I can’t do with many films, and really it is a childs fable….. isn’t it? However, after watching this with a child….. I’m beginning to think the whole dream sequence scenario was a little hard for him to understand…… maybe we should stick to cartoon movies for a little while longer!
CRANK 2 – HIGH VOLTAGE
In this high-octane sequel, hitman Chev Chelios’ (Statham) launches himself on an electrifying chase through Los Angeles in pursuit of the Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart. CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE is written and directed by Neveldine/Taylor, the duo behind the 2006 hit film CRANK, and the upcoming GAME starring Gerard Butler. (Thankyou to cinema.com for the info.)
Miss Davis says: This has to be one of the worst films I have seen in a long time. High Voltage is an understatement…. If you enjoy watching a person jumpstart themselves by placing jumper leads on their tongue and nipples or by wearing an electrified dog color, then maybe this is your type of movie. Not only that, but the bucking bull ride that the characters display at the race track, is definitely not to everyones taste and could easily be classified as really bad B grade porn. This movie is not for the light hearted!
